Jones Tract Flooding

The flooding of Jones Tract has been in the news to some degree, but both Upper and Lower Jones Track flooded as the result of a levee break on Upper Jones Tract. We often anchor out on Mildred Island which is a flooded tract that suffered a levee break in the 80's and was never reclaimed. Mildred is the next tract northwest.

The California Department of Water Resources has a very interesting slide show of the break, pictures of the flooding, and of the reclamation work underway.

Update: The Department of Water Resources has an excellent summary page and I particularly like the photo section.
